Bertha LuJeane Williams, 92, of Cleveland, Ohio, peacefully transitioned on February 12, surrounded by the comfort of her home and the love she spent a lifetime giving to others.
Born on January 8, 1934, in Carnegie, Pennsylvania, to Bertha and Ike Carson, Bertha lived a life rooted in love, strength, and service. She spent many years doing domestic work, always caring for others with the same dedication and compassion she showed her own family.
Bertha was a very loving and genuinely happy woman. She had a way of making people feel welcome and at ease just by being herself. She took pride in her home and found joy in planting, decorating for the holidays, and creating a warm, beautiful space where family could gather. Some of the best memories were made simply spending time with her—laughing, talking, and feeling her love.
She now rejoins her parents, Bertha and Ike Carson; her husband, Marshall Williams; her son, Earl Williams; and her many siblings who welcomed her home.
Left to cherish her precious memory are her daughter, Marsha Williams; her sister, Minnie Carson; her grandchildren, Quatricia Johnson, Tyisha Pippens, and Aaliyah Hakeem; her great-grandchildren, Quantiona Johnson, Brittany Magby, Deoshanae Borden, Elysse Squire, and Amilleon Nettles; along with a loving host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Bertha will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, her gentle heart, and the way she made everyone feel loved. Her legacy lives on in the many generations she touched and the countless memories that will forever be held close.
