Betty Jean Brightwell, 72, of Warren, passed away at 9:15 am Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at University Hospital in Cleveland following a brief illness.

Sister Brightwell was born October 20, 1945 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of the late Huey Hill and Marie Stroud Weatherspoon.

Sister Brightwell graduated from Market Street High School in Warren. She retired from Sears and Perkins as a hostess. She was a member of Apostolic Faith Church on Colonial Street of Warren, Mt. Calvary of Youngstown, OH, Greater Apostolic Faith Church of Warren, and Zion Apostolic Church of Akron, OH. She was a homemaker who enjoyed writing poetry, shopping, spending time with family and friends.

Sister Brightwell will be sadly missed by her husband, Ronald Brightwell of Warren; her sons, Christopher (Ara) Brightwell and Antonio Brightwell of Warren; two grandchildren, Krista Brightwell and Katelynn Brightwell of Warren; a half-sister, Hellen Hill of Columbus; a half-brother, Bernard Weatherspoon of Warren; and a host of family and friends.

Sister Brightwell is preceded in death by her parents; her half-brothers; and her grandson, Jonathan Brightwell.
