Betty Jo Simpson Simmons was born March 3, 1935, in Aflex, Kentucky to George Wilburn Simpson and Anna Mae Waddy. She began her eternal rest on May 18,2023.

Betty relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1952 where she married and raised her family. Throughout her early years, she enjoyed attending church and supporting efforts in Africa. Betty accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord, and dedicated her life to serving and worshipping God. She loved laughing and studying the Word of God and her family will always cherish her beautiful life.

After raising her children, she did housekeeping for the Schermer Family for over 40 years. Betty loved spending time with her family and cooking for them. She hosted all holiday gatherings at her home where food was plentiful, and a lot of love was displayed.

Betty loved watching tv shows and making popcorn on the stove. She was a committed housewife and loving mother to her children and grandkids. She also served as a surrogate mother and grandmother to many others.

Betty Jo Simpson Simmons is survived by her daughter, Nicolette Simmons, and two sons, Dimitri Simmons and Albert Eugene Simmons II. Grandchildren, Eugene Nelson (Stephanie) Kelly Jr., Frank Ellis Brown Jr (Ehizogie Mary Ero-Brown), Dominique Simmons Davis (Michael Davis, and Tyler Scott Simmons; sisters: Elise Simpson, Crystal Simpson Williams (Michael M. Williams), Cynthia Simpson. extended family: Ellen Bruce Schermer, Betsy Schermer, Chris Schermer Stancheva & Rachel Schermer, Sam and Gwen Gordon, and a host of other relatives and friends.
