Our Beautiful First Lady Minister Betty Ruth Hall 62, soul rested in the arm of our Lord March 24, 2022 in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born August 28, 1952 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to parents, Alex and Pauline McCail, the fifth of six children.
Twenty-eight years ago, she met and married Reverend Kenny W. Hall II. First Lady Hall was a founding member of Solid Rock Christian Ministries. Always testifying that God had not called her to be a “wall flower” she was very active. One of the many things she did was sew all of the costumes for the annual Easter and Christmas programs, as well as shop and find all of the props for the programs. First Lady Hall also earned the name known to all as “Soul Patrol”. When she walked into a room people would say, “the Soul Patrol is here.” They knew she was there and she was going to make sure your soul was saved and your crown was reserved in Heaven. She helped you understand that your goal was to get right with God and live right. If you knew her then you knew that her charge was to keep seeking souls that were lost.
First Lady Hall was classy at all times; she dressed fine from head to toe. She loved those early shopping extravaganzas with her best friend, Lady Willa Williams, or her cousin, Louvina McCail. When she saw something she really wanted, she would patiently wait for it to go on sale. Then sure enough when it did, she would buy it.
First Lady Hall worked for Myrna Berzon for 32 years until her health would no longer allow her. During this time, she developed a special bond with the Berzon’s becoming more like family than an employee. We will miss you Mom to many, First Lady to some, Grandma, best friend, auntie, cousin but most of all a true servant and runner for the Lord. You have earned your wings and many jewels in your crown. We will see you again.
She was preceded in death by parents, Alex & Pauline McCail; great granddaughter, Janaya Z. Swain; and brother-in-law, Allen Archie.
