Blondell “Peaches” Gray (Moore) was born on February 11, 1953 to Willie Moore Sr and Lynetta Moore in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the 3rd of 4 children. Being the only girl with three brothers, greatly shaped her loving, but tough demeanor. She was small in statue, but large in heart. Her loving and sweet personality earned her the nickname “Peaches”, affectionately given to her by her grandmother while she was still a young girl. Blondell attended Cleveland Public Schools, graduating from John Hay High School in 1971.
Blondell met the love of her life, Sanford Gray, and was married on March 9, 1978. To their union were born two sons, Ameer Gray and Myah Gray. She enjoyed spending time and being active with her boys as they grew up. She could often be found hanging out with them in the backyard, sometimes even joining in their game of basketball.
Blondell along with her husband, Sanford, began studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses. She developed a strong loving relationship with her Heavenly Father Jehovah, dedicating her life to Him and being baptized on January 24, 1981. She remained loyal to Jehovah until the end of her life. Although she endured illness and multiple hospital stays, her faith never waivered. Over the years she attended the Newburgh, and then Millcreek Congregation. During that time, she gained many spiritual brothers, sisters, children, and grandchildren. All who met her were touched by her open and loving heart. Her fine example as a faithful Christian wife and sister encouraged all.
During her working years, Blondell managed several personal businesses. Her knack for detail and ability to provide excellent customer service, endeared her clients to her as well.
Anyone who knew Blondell, knew she enjoyed hosting gatherings at her home, and cooking large delicious meals for those she loved. We all look forward to Jehovah’s promised new world free of pain, sickness, and death, where we will see her again, in perfect health, and taste her appetizing dishes.
