Bobbie Ann Henry was lovingly known by many names: Mrs. Ann, Mama Ann, Auntie Ann, Bobbie, and Barbara. She was born on July 17, 1961, to the late Willie Johnson and Lee Ethel Hunter in Mound Bayou, Mississippi. She accepted Christ early in life and later married the late Theodore Henry.
Ann worked at Apex Paper Boxing for 32 years, showing true dedication and commitment. She was known for her loyalty and hard work. Beyond her job, she cared deeply for others, always ready to listen, share a meal, or offer support. Ann brought laughter and love to everyone around her. She kept her family and friends close, offering strength in hard times and calm in tough ones.
Ann loved spending time with family and friends, especially during her memorable Friday nights at 10 BABY. She was known for her catchphrase, “whoop yo mouth,” whenever someone said something wild. She enjoyed trips to the casino and playing cards for quarters with loved ones. Ann also loved attending her grandchildren’s sports and music events and staying in touch with everyone. Her kindness and generosity reached far beyond her family, touching many lives.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Pamela Johnson; Territa (BJ) Williams; Tawana Edwards; Tedricka Edwards; and her son, Willie Johnson. She is also remembered by her siblings: Lucille Thomas, Daries (Stanley) Moore, Jimmy Hunter, Danny Johnson, Donell Johnson, Myra Clark-Wooten, Clarence Allen, Pierce Criss, Connie Miller, and Lonnie (Pam) Broger.
Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Theodore Henry; her son, Michael Johnson; her grandson, Amer Duncan; her parents, Willie Johnson and Lee Ethel Hunter; and her siblings, Dorothy Hunter, Therlene Criss, Willie Mae Bell, and Robert Lee Aldridge. She leaves behind 18 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
