BOBBIE OLIVER RICKS OBITUARY
Bobbie Oliver Ricks was born August 22, 1947, in Meridian, Mississippi. She was the 11th child to the late Madison Sr. and Lillie Clayton.
Bobbie accepted Christ at an early age at Saint Mark United Methodist Church under the leadership of Rev. Peter Bogan.
Bobbie graduated from Middleton High School in 1965 and then moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where she attended Florida Junior College and studied business.
Bobbie later moved to Cleveland, Ohio, and united with the Historic Greater Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Larry W. Howard. She served as the leader of the youth group, a member of the choir, and a member of the pastor’s aide. She was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Greater Friendship is where Bobbie met the love of her life, Deacon Theodore Ricks. The two became friends and were united in marriage for 10 years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She loved shopping, interior decorating, singing, and dancing.
Bobbie transitioned this life on April 6, 2026, at MetroHealth Medical Center to be with her parents, Madison Sr. and Lillie Clayton; her husband, Theodore Ricks; seven brothers, Madison Jr., Jessie, Eddie, John, Robert, James, and Lamar; two sisters, Ruth Marie and Victoria, all proceeded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters: Lillie Clayton (William) and Debbie Jenkins (McCoy), of Jacksonville, Florida; and Wonder Clayton of Cleveland, Ohio; five bonus daughters, Donna, Phyllis, Tonya, Keshia, and Tara; three sisters: Alberta Burge, Corine Wilburn, and Naomi Rush (Charles).
She also leaves seven grandchildren: Jerome, Monica (Leon), Teron (Ciara), Monique, Randy (Jeannie), Dominique (Chantee), and Phylicia; fourteen great-grandchildren: DaKoda, Olivia, Domanik, Zaydalees, Zy’Oniel, Zy’Aire, Zy’Ann, Deja, Diamond, Desiree, Devianna, Theodore, Joshua, and Brandon; Prayer Warrior: Clementines Sallins; special friends: Sally Bentley, Mary Singletary and Lanesa Bentley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
