Bonnie Jean Alford

Bonnie Jean Alford went home to be with the Lord on January 21, 2018.  Cherished mother of April M. Alford and Cecelia J. Sutton.  Loving sister of Thomas Odell Alford Jr., Barbara Youngblood, Stanley Alford, Emma P. Lockhart, and Carolyn Christian.  Grandmother of Priscilla Alford, Lawrence Washington, Regina Sutton and Njeri Barrett.  Great-grandmother of Ananya Westbrook, Cyan Washington and Jhaiden Jamison. Bonnie hailed from a very large  family and has a host of nieces and nephews that lovingly call her ‘Aunt Patsy’.

Bonnie Jean Alford was born and reared in Cleveland, Ohio. She spent many years of her life here raising her two daughters; April Alford and Cecelia Sutton. Bonnie received her Associate of Arts degree in Psychology from Cuyahoga Community College in the mid-70’s and in 1977 she and her daughters would relocate to Oakland, California where she lived for over three decades. During that time she would enjoy four grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren. She leaves behind three sisters; two living   brothers.
