Bonnie Byrd Traylor, 85, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026.
Born on October 29, 1940, in Augusta, Georgia, and raised in Akron, Ohio, Bonnie lived a life defined by love, kindness, and devotion to her family. She shared many loving years with her husband, Ned Lee Traylor, and considered her family her greatest blessing, taking immense pride in being a mother, nana, and great-grandmother.
Bonnie dedicated many years to working at Roush’s Market and was known for her welcoming nature and genuine friendliness. As a devoted member of the Young in Heart Club, Bonnie freely shared her compassion and warmth with her community.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ned L. Traylor; her parents, John W. and Alice Byrd; her siblings, Ralph Byrd, Loretta Brown, Carolyn Byrd, Johnnie W. Byrd, and Richard Byrd.
She is survived by her sons, Anthony Traylor (Karen) and Julian Dwaine Traylor; her stepsons, Isaac Davis and Steve Traylor; her sisters-in-law, Louise Mitchell, Gladys Parrish, and Marvie Byrd; her grandchildren, Michael Franklin (Brandy), Dominique Traylor, Antoine Traylor, Anthony Traylor II, Dwaine Traylor (Claire), Kristian Harris (Devon), Chelly Traylor, Brandon Traylor, Briana Traylor, and Zach Traylor; her 17 great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members.
She will be greatly missed and remembered by her family and all whose lives she touched.
All services will be held at Stewart & Calhoun.
Viewing will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 4-6 pm.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11 am.
The family welcomes flowers or donations may be made to the Young in Heart Club of Akron, Ohio, the Dementia Society of America, or the Golden Buckeye Center for Dementia Caregiving Ohio in Bonnie’s honor.
