Bruce Cornell Ramsey, 70, of Lyndhurst, Ohio, entered eternal rest on December 17, 2025. A man of quiet strength, deep compassion, and boundless warmth, Bruce lived a life defined not only by his accomplishments, but by the love and respect he showed to everyone he encountered.
Born on April 3, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio, Bruce was the son of Beulah and Arlander Ramsey. He was raised in Cleveland, where he formed lifelong bonds and values that would remain central to who he was. He attended John F. Kennedy High School and later graduated from Fisk University in 1977. While at Fisk, Bruce exemplified leadership and dedication, serving as class vice president and co-captain of the Bulldog football team, earning all-conference recognition.
After college, Bruce returned home to Cleveland, where he built a life centered on family and community. He was a devoted husband to Margreat Jackson and a proud father to Rikar Ramsey and Kariya Ramsey. He warmly embraced his daughter-in-law, Robin Ramsey, and cherished his role as stepfather to Brandon Jackson and Crystal Looney. As a grandfather to Egypt, Royal, Kairo, Jace and Brandon Jr., Bruce found some of his greatest joy in watching his family grow, offering steady guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love. He was also a deeply loved uncle and friend to many, always present with wisdom, humor, and support.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Beulah and Arlander Ramsey, and by his siblings Linda, Arlander III, and Reginald.
To those who knew him, Bruce was known as a gentle giant—strong yet tender, wise yet approachable. He was a friend to everyone and a stranger to no one. His infectious, unforgettable laugh filled rooms and lifted spirits, and his words, when offered, carried thoughtfulness and calm. Bruce had an extraordinary ability to make others feel welcome, valued, and understood.
Though his physical presence is no longer with us, the impact of Bruce Cornell Ramsey’s life will endure in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy is one of love, humility, and enduring kindness.
