C.L. Brown was born on March 6, 1946, in Ripley, Mississippi, to the late Lonzo Brown and Maggie (Spears) Brown. He grew up in Bolivar, Tennessee, where he attended Bolivar Industrial High School.
As a young man, C.L. later made his home in Cleveland, Ohio, where he worked as a Plating Technician at Kelly Plating Co. for over 30 years, retiring in 2008. A kind and gentle soul, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Though private by nature, C.L.’s life was grounded in love for his home and family. He especially enjoyed driving new cars, caring for the dogs he kept throughout his life, and spending the holidays with family.
C.L. was preceded in death by his parents, Lonzo and Maggie Brown; his sisters, Annie Bob (Brown) Wilkes and Dorothy Lucille Brown; his brother, Robert Brown, Jr.; and his grandson, Arlandies Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memory four children: Charles Brown, Joanna Speights, James Hurley, and Tyrone Hurley; along with five grandchildren: James Hurley Jr., Sierra Hurley, Davis Hurley, Blake Hurley, and Jayden Hurley.
