Cardell Deron Hawthorne, 28 years old, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022. His passing was a sudden and unexpected tragedy.
Cardell affectionately known to his family as “Bubba” was born on March 2nd, 1994, in Cleveland, Ohio to Carlos Hawthorne Sr. and Antoinette Hawthorne. Cardell was the second oldest of five siblings. He attended the Cleveland Metropolitan School District for most of his education, but later transferred to Shaker Heights, where he graduated high school in 2012.
Upon graduation, Cardell held several jobs. He worked as a pizza maker at A Touch of Italy, kitchen porter for Step Forward formerly CEOGC, factory worker for GLT, tow motor operator for Cosmax and Quality Assurance/Control Manager for Phoenix Associates.
Cardell always loved to draw. His talent for art was evident at a very young age. When in Head Start, he drew an iguana that was so impressive that no one believed a four-year-old child could have drawn it. His love for art manifested into the artistry of designing jewelry and doing tattoos. He began going by the name “Chino Braxton”. He did tattoos for family and friends. He also made “grills” for people to enhance their smile. Cardell
later joined the Focused Tattoo Family, where he cultivated and honed his craft as a tattoo artist under the tutelage of the shop’s owner and its resident tattoo artists. He couldn’t wait to go to what he referred to as “The Shop”.
Cardell met and married Shakiylah Foster and to that union three children were born. Jahari Kaden, Jahmir Kharon, and Kyndel Jahne’.
One of the things that mattered most to Cardell was his family. He would often call or stop by just to see how they were doing and to spend time with them. He was the quintessential brother, always offering advice and support, so much so that he was often mistaken as the oldest child. But above all, his greatest accomplishment was becoming a father. Cardell was very dedicated to his children and made sure they knew they were loved. He always spoke of his children and spent a lot of time with them.
Cardell is survived by his wife Shakiylah; his children, (sons) Jahari and Jahmir and (daughter) Kyndel; his parents CarlosHawthorne Sr. and Antoinette Hawthorne; his brothers, Carlos Hawthorne Jr. Cordell Hawthorne, and Cortez Hawthorne; his sister Camryn Hawthorne and his nephew Carlos Hawthorne III.
