Carol Jean (Robinson) Burand transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. As a teen, it was upon her confession of faith in the life, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ that she was baptized at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, by the late Rev. John Burrell.
Through the union of Samuel and Lula Robinson, Carol was born on June 30, 1943. After attending Akron Public Schools, she graduated from the Washington Beauty Academy working in several area hair salons. She went on to work at Akron City and St. Thomas Hospitals and finally retiring from Sears Parts & Service Center.
Carol had a great sense of humor and loved joking around with people. She inherited her artistic drawing ability from her father. Among other things, she loved to cook various food dishes and enjoyed all types of music, but jazz was her favorite. Being with family was uplifting and a great joy to her. And by the way somewhere along her young life, she decided to add an ‘e’ at the end of her name – simply because it was different and chic.
Carol was preceded in death by her father Samuel L. Robinson, Sr., brothers Samuel L. Robinson, Jr., and David M. Robinson, Sr., Grandson Aaron K. Turman. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Ronda Laston and Lisa (Timothy) Solomon, her adopted son Luther Johnson, Jr., her loving mother Lula Robinson, brother Timothy (Twyla) Robinson, sisters Shirley Woodall, Loretta Rice -Thomas, Theresa Robinson, Anita (William) Mills of Villa Rica, G.A., Janyne (William) Davis; grandchildren Brandonn (Teresa) Turman, Amber Turman, Amanda Turman and Kristopher Turman; eight great-grandchildren, her very special friends, Kenneth Sharpe, Delores Green, Malcolm Gordon & Lorraine Gordon.
