On November 30, 1937 Carol Harris was the 2nd child born to Theodore Mason Sr & Dorothy Mason in Cleveland Ohio. She had one older brother, Dr. Theodore Jr (Teddy), and two younger sisters Margaret Marie (Peggy), Juanita W. (Jikky). She attended John Addams High School, studied nursing at Jane Addams Vocational School, and later in her career became a Certified Surgical Technologist.
She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Joseph L Harris (Mickey) & they were remarried after 20 years of being divorced, to thier union was born three sons: Derrek Andre, Craig Anthony, and Joseph Michael.
She attended Williams Temple COGIC under the ministry of the late Bishop Riley Williams. At age of seventeen, she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior, was filled with the Holy Ghost, and anointed with the gift of prophecy & laying on of hands. She later joined Lee Road COGIC until transtioning to a new building renamed Calvary Hill COGIC under her uncle the late Bishop Robert S Fields & continued serving under her present Pastor & cousin Dr. Earnest L Fields.
Carol worked for 31 years at Mt. Sinai Hospital as a highly valued & well respected Surgical Nurse & Technologist. She loved her surgical work so much she would bring home different pieces of equipment to inspire her children in pursuing a medical career.
As a faithful servant, she served in many capacities at Calvary Hill COGIC as a choir member, an usher, a member of the hospitality department, serving food in the kitchen during state meetings, as deaconess, managing the churches finances, as trustee, and participating in women’s fellowship.
She was a true fashionesta, loving different styles of clothes, shoes, handbags and others accessories as well as sewing & making adjustments to her outfits. Her love for children was so great that you could find her holding babies during her breaks at work in the newborn unit. She also was an effortless cook, enjoyed bowling & traveling and loved her family.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Mickey, her brother Teddy , her sister Peggy, but leaves to rejoice in her presence with the Lord her sister Juanita, three sons: Derrek Sr., Craig Sr. and Joseph (Michael), five (5) grandchildren: Patrick, Dominique, Derrek Jr, Daryl and Craig Jr, eleven great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
