Carrie Crosby was born in Warm Springs, Georgia on January 16, 1949 to the late Render King and Charlie Mae King.
Carrie was the 16th. child of 17 children of which 14 siblings preceded her in death. Carrie accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a member of Trinity C.M.E. Church of Durand, Georgia. Later she relocated to Cleveland, Ohio and became a member of Mt. Victory Baptist Church where she served as choir member and bookkeeper. She attended Glenville High School and also went on to receive some postsecondary education.
Carrie worked in numerous capacities throughout her life. She was a mail carrier, administrative assistant and later became a licensed beautician. Carrie was married to the late Ennis Crosby. Two twin boys were born to this union (Danladi Crosby and the late Daren Crosby).
Carrie was affectionately known as “Wrap” because she loved wearing wrap around dresses. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed sewing in her spare time. Carrie never met a stranger. She was a woman of few words but her smile spoke volumes.
On Sunday, September 3, 2023 Carrie transitioned to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She leaves to cherish many wonderful memories, her son, Danladi (Tisha) Crosby, two granddaughters, Danyel and Desirae all of Euclid, Ohio; A brother, MacArthur (Lillian) King of Oxford, Michigan; A sister, Elmira King Stone of Atlanta, Georgia and a host of nieces’ nephews, cousins and friends.
