Carrie W. Amos, 86, was born in Columbus, Mississippi on February 27, 1934 and passed away on April 11, 2020.
Carrie served the Lord her whole life. She was saved on August 9, 1950 and baptized the 1st Sunday in September. She moved to Akron, Ohio and worked at Allen Cleaners, volunteered at the library, was assistant teacher for Head Start and retired with 25 years of service at the Hilton Inn Hotel in 1999. She had a beautiful soul. She was sweet and kind to everyone who was bless to be in her presence. Her laughter and voice was angelic; one of God’s true angels. She was supportive, loyal, funny and loved watch sports. Lebron James was her favorite. She also loved dancing, reading, cooking, trivia games, writing and riddles. She was known for her smile, making dressing and sweet potato pies. She never saw fault in anyone. She used to say, “some people just need a little faith in God and to feel His love of man because feeling loved goes a long way.” She never had any favorites either; she felt some kids or people just needed more attention than others. She will truly be missed. She was one of a kind.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Sr. & Elizabeth Amos; brothers, Dave Amos, Willie Amos and Joseph Amos Jr.; sisters, Annie Amos, Sarah Mae Amos, Deloris Elie, Leana Amos, Mary Amos and Thelma Amos.
Carrie is survived by sisters, Alice Amos and Elizabeth Amos; long time spouse of 61 years, Robert Lytle; sister-in-laws, Mary Lytle and Annette Clinton; children, Curtis Amos, Daphne Amos, Robert Amos, Mark Amos, Mary Amos, Crystal Amos and Terry Amos; 18 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
