Ceyla Belton was born November 22, 1928, in Forkland, AL to the late Robert and Mary Moore. She married William McKinley Belton in December of 1943 in Forkland, Al. Four children were born to this union. When she moved to Akron, she was very involved in church and became a member of the Prince of Peace Baptist Church where John M. Burrel was the pastor. She later moved her membership to Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Corey Johnson. People always asked, “what were her hobbies, or her special interest;” the answer was “she worked.” She began working in her early teenage years at The Akron Towel Company for 38 years. Her last job was working as a “Grandmother at a local daycare. She stopped working well into her early 80’s.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert, and Mary Moore; brother, Mayor (Bubba) Moore; sister Willie Hampton; brother, Henry Moore, and Johnny Moore.
She is survived by her sister, Ann Ford; brother, Eugine Moore and Jimmy Moore; children, Mary Collins, George Belton, Willie (Willie D.) Dickerson; grandchildren, Abbie (Eddie) Mays, John H. Collins, MaryAnn Hill, Vember Collins, Laquita (Miquel) Rushin, Taadhimeka Ferguson, CorRenthia Davis, Rolanda Dickerson, Lakesha Belton, Roderick Henderson, Sade Belton, William Belton, Jerome Hume, Mariah Bland; special daughter, Ceyla Jones; special son, Frank Moore; special nieces, Rozlyn Richardson and Jasmine Culley.
