Chandra Gayle DeBerry-Washington age 61, went home to be with the Lord on June 16, 2021.

She was a longtime resident of the community and in the community’s good grace. She owned multiple business ventures and was a prominent figure in the first black-owned cosmetology school in Akron, Ohio; Washington Beauty Academy, which was owned by her mother.

During her lifetime, she established multiple successful business ventures, ending with Flechtner Kennel. She also obtained a degree in Business Management.

She was preceded in death by her parents James D. Washington, and Emma Pauline Washington; brother, Myron D. Washington.

She leaves to cherish her memory and a legacy of 5 children Akeisha Freeman, Khalilah Freeman, Ursula Freeman, Quanteca Paige, and Malachi Paige; grandchildren, Kaira, Keyerra, Eugene, Kadeisha, Tracy, Tmyrah, Khalil, Anthony, Quavelle , Cheyenne, Chinelo, James, Jaquyon, Samiyah, Malichai Jr, Noah, Messiah, and Makhi; great-grandchildren, Kenrick, Eden, Na’khi, Aaron, Ryan, Ry’el, Raylah, Rayden, Javier, Kyro, Jamiyah, and soon to be born, Destinee. The family would like to make a special mention to John T. Freeman, Micah T. Freeman, Steve Harmon, Miss Theresa, and the late Willie Paige.
