Charles A. Smith went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 19, 2016.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Tiffany Smith. Cherished father of Phillip and Vanessa. Loving brother of Sheryl Davis, Jerome Smith, Sheelagh Allston, Cormac Smith, Jimmy Wooten, and Lateefah Wooten-Daniel.

A Twinsburg resident for the past 22 years, Charles served as a member of the Twinsburg basketball and baseball committees and was a baseball coach in Twinsburg for 5 years when his kids were young. A molder of champions, he was especially proud of the academic and athletic achievements of his two children, Phillip and Vanessa Smith who earned multiple high school state championships during their tenure at St Edward High School and Hathaway Brown and went on to excel in academics and athletics at Ivy League schools (Phillip at Brown University – varsity football, and Vanessa at Princeton University – varsity basketball). Recently Charles spent considerable time as a board member of the Bob Nance Basketball Academy where his goal was to help other parents and children achieve the level of success that he helped foster in his own children via academics and athletics.
