Charlie Wade, age 70, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away and is at peace in the arms of the Lord on November 26, 2023, in Cleveland. Born on July 9, 1953, in Cleveland, Ohio, Charlie, also known as Charles Alexander Wade III, was a pure joy and led his life with Joy and laughter which filled a room and touched ever soul he met. He was a beloved father, brother, uncle, partner, and grandfather.
Charlie was a life of the party, always lighting up the room with his infectious smile and laughter. He was a caring and helpful individual, known for being a people person. Charlie was a great friend, partner, and a loyal member of his fraternity brothers at Kappa Alpha Psi. He loved God and was actively involved in his church, The Word Church, where he faithfully served for 20 years.
In his professional life, Charlie started his career at Bristol Myers in 1977. Known for his incredible sales skills, he could sell water to a whale. Charlie’s talent in sales and real estate led him to great success, buying properties and making a name for himself.
Charlie had a passion for cooking and had a green thumb when it came to gardening. These hobbies had been with him since high school. He also enjoyed dabbling in real estate, further showcasing his diverse interests.
Charlie graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in June 1971 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University. There were three life altering things that happen during his time at Kent State, He became a member and pledged Kappa Alpha Psi, and met and married Carol Bernal Wade which remained an important part of his life. Charles first job at Bristol Myers allowed him to relocate to Chicago in 1977 the couple later then welcome their two children daughter Courtney and Son Charles (Alex) Wade into the family. The Couple divorced in 1991 however had each other’s best interest at heart, as well as that for their children.
As often happens life becomes messy.
And Charlie experienced a season of trials and tribulations when the opportunity to relocate back to his hometown Ohio after his mother passed he seized the moment and began a new chapter. Strengthen by his faith in God and surrounded by family and lifelong friends and his significant other Andretha. Charles join The Word Church where he served and was an Active member until death.
Charlie Leaves behind his significant other, Andretha Dukes, his younger brother Reggie Wade, his daughter Courtney Wade, his son Charles (Alex) Wade, and his past wife Carol Wade. He will be dearly missed by his nieces Tia Wade (Harari) and Noel Davis who lovingly remember Christmas morning as children at their Grandparents house and Uncle Charles chasing them around with his smelly shaving cream.. He also will be missed by his grandchildren Richard King III, Charisma King, Catalina King, and Christina King. Charlie was preceded in death by his father Charles Alexander Wade the 2nd, his mother Josephine Wade, and his Blessed older sister Jean Wade.
Charles spent his last years with his significant other Andretha and will be missed a lot
Charlie Wade will be remembered as a vibrant and loving individual a good friend and God-fearing person who touched the lives of many. His warm presence and infectious laughter will be deeply missed. May his soul rest in eternal peace. I Love you daddy.
