On February 9, 2025, Charles E. Stuckey answered the call saying, “I’m ready to go now.”
Charles was born in Bennettsville, South Carolina on Sept. 11, 1951, to the late Rev. Essie Mae Blunt and Charlie Stuckey.
Charles graduated from the Boys High School in Brooklyn, NY. At the age of 18 Charles joined the United States Marine Corps. He always expressed, “Once a Marine, always a Marine, Semper Fi”.
Charles moved to Ohio in the early 70’s and worked numerous jobs. He was a hard-working man. Charles worked as a heavy highway laborer with the Perk Construction Company for over 30 years. He was very proud of being a member of the Teamsters, Local Unions 422 & 860.
Charles passion was fishing on the shore of Lake Erie and competing with the neighbors for the best lawn on the street. Charles loved working on cars, especially the one he called his “old school” car. Then you can’t forget his four-legged fur babies, which all had to be boys that he loved and spoiled as if they were human.
In year 2000, Charles met the one who would be the love of his life. From the moment he saw her he said, “This is who I’m going to marry”, and on May 2, 2003, he married her, Rita Cheatham, his “ReRe”, and he was and will always be her “Stuckey”. Although it seemed like our life together was short, Charles would always say, “I have lived my life, and this world don’t owe me nothing”.
Charles was a member of the Community Holiness Church, where he loved his pastor and church family.
