Charles Grays, 68, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 10, 2023, in the comfort of his home. He was preceded in death by his father; Malcolm Grays, his brothers; Malcolm Grays Jr., Earl Grays, and David Grays. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Grays; his brother; Victor (Kim) Grays; his sister; Sandra Grays; his son, Charles Grays Jr., and daughters; Jaya (Ronnie) Neal and Nicole (Cameron) Christian. Charles was so blessed to have his oldest grandson, Charles Grays III (Baby Charles) who he lovingly referred to as his “bonus child”. Charles loved all his grandchildren dearly; Shamar Grays, Averielle Eldermire, Jade Neal, Ronnie Neal Jr, Calel Christian, Cameron Christian Jr., Camara Christian, Carlito Christian, and Carmelo Christian.
Charles was born on December 18,1954 to proud parents Malcolm and Flosetta Grays. Since a very early age, Charles was always a believer in God. Charles graduated from Shaw High School in 1972. In 1975, Charles married Shirley and they have been together for over 48 years. Charles was an extremely devoted and loving father to his three children and worked tirelessly through the years to support his family. He took great care of his children and grandchildren and was always there to guide and support them through life. He always made time to help his children and their families. Charles was a true family man, role model, provider, and protector for his children and grandchildren. After retiring from Stouffers, Charles enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his buddies, fixing cars, family outings, dancing with his grandkids, traveling and spending quality time with his family and friends. He was affectionately known as the family comedian and loved telling funny stories and jokes to everyone. Charles loved being around people and his energy would light up any room.
Charles lived his life to the absolute fullest and welcomed others with his warm, inviting personality. He would find a way to make others laugh and bring joy to any situation. Charles will be remembered for his contagious laugh, his sense of humor, his big heart, his generosity, and kind soul. Charles’s family and friends will always carry precious memories of him in their hearts.
