Chester Lamar Bacon was born on June 24th, 1958 into the union of Ula Bernice Bacon Williams (deceased) and Pastor William Chester Bacon (deceased)(Joanester), as the youngest of 3. He was baptized at an early age at 2nd New Hope Baptist Church. He attended Shaker Heights Schools and graduated from John Hay in 1977. In 1978, Chester enlisted in the Marines where he served for 8 years. After being Honorably discharged, Lamar obtained an associates degree from ICM Business School and briefly worked for the VA and DFAS before being hired as a United States Postal Service worker in 1997. He served the East Cleveland and Cleveland Heights area for 21 years before retiring.
Lamar was a man of many talents and gifts. He taught himself how to play the piano, the guitar and had an amazing voice! He loved bike riding with his best friends Peter Walton and Nicole Scott. While stationed in Okinawa, Japan he studied photography. Not only was he talented and smart, Lamar was HILARIOUS! “The Life Of The Party” is how everyone knows and remembers him. He always knew how to bring life into the room.
Bacon became a loving father first in 1979 to Sherea Renee from his union with Toni Renee (deceased). Then for a second time in 1989 to Tishana Bacon from his union with Marva Bacon. He later married Beverly Matthews in 2000, making him bonus dad to Arneisha Copeland.
On February 3rd, 2024 Chester peacefully transitioned. He leaves in love siblings: Debra Rutledge (Steve Rutledge, deceased), William E. Bacon Sr. (Gloria Bacon)-
(To the union of Pastor William C. Bacon and Joanester) Valeria, Nina, Joanell, and Fred. 2 daughters, Sherea Renee and Tishana Bacon. 5 grandchildren, Deondre Ritter, Dante Ritter, Semiya Ritter, Khalil Kirksey and Khari Sparrow. And a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
