Christopher Trenell Wright was born in Akron, Ohio on July 8, 1970, to James and Pearlene Wright. He attended Akron Public Schools. He went to Rankin Elementary, Simon Perkins Jr. High and graduated from John R. Buchtel High School in 1989. While attending Buchtel High School, he was enrolled in Upward Bound, a pre-college performance program. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Akron in Criminal Justice in 2001. He was employed as a Toll Plaza Supervisor for the Ohio Turnpike Commission. He had 23 years of service at the Ohio Turnpike.
He met his wife Carrie in Junior high school where they were friends. They did not begin dating until 2001 and were married on December 27, 2002. He served in the U.S. Army for 4 years and had duties of a chaplain during his service. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1993.
He loved riding his two motorcycles, one of which is a custom-built bike. He could never wait for the weather to break so he could get out to ride. He and the family would attend the motorcycle shows at the IX Center annually. He even bought a motorcycle for his wife and taught her how to ride.
He had a huge collection of DC and Marvel Comic memorabilia. He loved wearing his Superman, Incredible Hulk, and Spiderman t-shirts.
Chris was a consummate joker. He was the heart of the party at gatherings. He was always playful and cracking jokes. He has a tattoo of the joker on his arm, which pretty much sums up his personality. He had a zest for adventure. The family would visit Cedar Point frequently and took numerous vacations where the activity level was full speed ahead. He was never one to shy away from a challenge whether it was zip-lining, white water rafting, or riding the biggest roller coaster in the park.
Chris is preceded in death by his brother, James Wright, Jr., and sister, Demetria Wright.
Chris is survived by his wife, Carrie Wright; children, Cayden Wright, Cevanna Wright; stepchildren, Michael Goode and Cierra Goode; parents, James Wright and Pearlene Wright; great aunt, Eunice Blaylock; brother, Ramon (Michelle) Wright of Burlington, KY; nephews, DeSean Wright of Burlington, Ky and Michael (Shanice) Wright of Marysville, CA. He also leaves to mourn close friends, Robert Phinessee and David Clark; 3 step-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, family, and friends.
