Clarence Boykin, Sr. passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018.
Clarence was born in Birmingham, Alabama on September 26, 1932, to Dick Boykin and Mattie Floyd Boykin. He was one of 12 children.
Clarence served in the Korean War in Okinawa from December 5, 1952, until November 30, 1954. Upon his return, he worked at Goodyear Rubber and Tire Mix Center from February 12, 1955, until October 1, 1994.
He was a devoted husband and father to Rhonda Junius, Clarence, Jr, Marilyn Dunkly and Michelle Boykin. He was married to Patricia Ann Boykin on May 5, 1971, and they shared many years together. He has now gone home to join his wife and family.
He leaves to cherish his memory, Rosa Ware Boykin (Birmingham, AL), Georgia Ann Payne Boykin (Detroit, MI), Reverend George Boykin, (Birmingham, AL) Bertha Mae Thomas (Akron, OH) Isaiah (Ann) Boykin (Akron, OH), Leroy (Fannie) Boykin (Glen Rock, NJ), Dewayne (Mary) Boykin (Bham); 4 children; 10 grandchildren, Leah, Arian, Bryson, Adrian, Tristen, Alex, Clarissa, Clarence III, and Timmy; 11 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
