Cleveland Davis Jr. was born January 8, 1945 in Gadsden, Alabama to the Late Ada Lou Jean and Cleveland Davis Sr. He was the eldest of 5 children. 3 siblings preceded him in death; Charles Edward (Doretta), Donald Eugene (Ella) and Darryl Javan. He leaves behind his only sister Carolyn Jeanette.
Cleveland accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age due to the strong guidance he received from his Grandmother Ola Davis. She made sure the boys stayed on the right path while Mom and Dad worked. He was in active member of Alpha Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland Ohio where he served faithfully for many years.
Cleveland attended Thomas Edison High School where he learned plumbing, wood working and horticulture. He later attended Max Hayes Trade School for Carpentry and Electrical Engineering, he was an exceptional student and was awarded the opportunity to study at Notre Dame College.
Cleveland’s work career started at an early age at the Open Air Farmers Market in Cleveland, Ohio where his love for driving and deliveries began. He later became a driver for Highway Distribution and joined the company softball and bowling teams. He was the winner of multiple Bowling Championship Trophies with an impressive score of 265.
Cleveland met his wife Mary in 1989 while driving for Ohio Waste Recycling Company. They were married in 1993, and it was the happiest time in his life until she passed in 2015.
Cleveland worked as a driver for Provide A Ride, and he loved his job and provided good service and friendly conversation. He was liked and respected by all of his coworkers.
Cleveland loved talking about his family , he could tell you everyone’s name and special talent, there were so many to remember and he never left anyone out.
All in all he had a good life, and lived it well.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sister Carolyn Jeanette, his devoted son Clifford Davis, step son Frank Ware (Valerie), granddaughters Rennee, Deja and April, grandsons David Malik and Marcellus and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
