Connie Ann Slaughter Grayer was born June 16th, 1959. The youngest daughter of Robert and Claudette Slaughter. Educated in the Cleveland Public Schools, Connie was on the track and Volleyball teams at John Hay High School. She graduated in 1977 and attended Central State University. Connie accepted Christ at an early age and attended Freedom Chapel. She later joined The Word Church. She was an incredible woman with a lifetime of accomplishments and interactions.
As a mother to her son Quintin, Connie provided an adventurous upbringing with a multitude of unique opportunities. Making sure as an only child he was never alone, she reinforced the importance of family, church, and community.
Connie’s passion was her ministry in service to others. She used her certifications in Christian Ministry, Behavioral Health, as well as Medical and Chemical Dependency to help restore people who have been lost. She was employed by YWCA of Greater Cleveland.
Connie enjoyed supporting her grandson, nieces, and nephews at their various sporting events, traveling, crocheting, and cooking. On August 5th, after a brief illness, Connie transitioned to her heavenly home. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sharon Taylor, and brother Michael Slaughter.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Quinton Slaughter, brother Torian Slaughter (Renee), Grandson Devin Chappell, Granddaughter Heaven Harper-Rose Slaughter, Great Grandson Da’shaun Chappel, Nieces and Nephews, Aaron (Cary), Stephanie, Angelique, Marques, Demetrius, Ashley, Denzel, Torai, and Torryn, and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
