Connie arrived as an earth angel on March 9, 1945, and flew away on March 14th, 2022, at the age of 77. She spread her infectious spirit to everyone she encountered during her life long residency in Akron, Ohio. Connie had an admirable work ethic, dedicating over two decades as a psychiatric aide to our veterans at the Brecksville Veterans Hospital. Often times leaving those long night shifts to open her home and provide loving care to anyone in need. When not caring for her family and friends, Connie loved to have a good time. She was often found swaying and snapping her fingers to some good ol’ tunes. Her aura was like no other and she’ll be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Sr. and Ethel Dix; brother, Johnny Dix Jr; and loving husband, Lenuel J. Hopson.
Surviving loved ones include daughter, Joy (Earl) Hopson-Johnson; son, Lenuel (Tamaro) Hopson; bonus children, Teresa Cash, Janine Fitzpatrick, William Stephens, Eric Gladman; sisters, Pauline Taylor, Marina A. Dix; brothers, Ralph A. Dix, Gary (Jeri-lynn) Dix. Johnson; additional grandchildren, Devin Hopson, Quindarius Johnson, Briana and Kijah Hopson, KJ and Crystal Cash.
