Corrine Henry Pringle, affectionately known as Tootsie, transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born on February 25, 1946, to the union of Charles and Corrine Jones and was a lifelong resident of the Akron area. Tootsie and her devoted husband, Morris, were married for over forty-six years and were parents to Darrell (Stephanie) Jones and Darnell (Jackie) Pringle as a blended family.
Tootsie’s life revolved around her family. She was the strong, supportive matriarch, indeed. And Tootsie was blessed with her soul mate, Morris, a provider with a generous spirit that supported both her wishes and the needs of their extended family members, unendingly. She retired as a dedicated employee of Summit County Children Services where she perfected her culinary skills in Food Services. She will be remembered for her charismatic personality that attracted long-lasting friendships. Being in her presence was like an infusion of joy and laughter. She was kind-hearted with a generous, unselfish, sweet spirit. Tootsie was a gracious hostess who enjoyed entertaining, cooking, gardening, the casino circuit, and she was an avid fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Additionally, she was bold with mental strength and a gale force presentation. Tootsie’s consummate, compassionate caregiving skills were evident in her loving attention to her mother during her final years. And she loved Precious, her pet dog.
Tootsie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Doylan Jones; brothers, Willie Jones, Albert (Betty) Jones, and Charles Jones Jr.; niece, Yolanda Jones; and nephews, Terrence Jones, and Albert Darnell Jones.
Tootsie’s loving memory will be cherished forever by her husband, Morris; sons and daughters-in-law; sister-in-law, Emma; special friends, Ms. Sonya Dixon, Ms. Loretta Williams-Brown, and Mrs. Mary Cooper; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
