Damon C. Smartt, 58, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, after a short illness. He was born on December 10, 1965, in Akron, Ohio to the late Charles and Maggie Smartt. He was preceded in death by sister, Tanya (Bivins) Duncan. He is survived by son, Micah-Sean Simon, granddaughter, Lana Simon, of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Laura Smartt of Akron, Ohio; Nina (Smartt) Smitherman of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Amber Williams of Cleveland, Ohio; nephews Jason (Bivins) Duncan, Justin and Jarvis Duncan; nieces Ava and Alia Smitherman, nephew Trey Williams, along with a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307. Friends may visit at the chapel from 12 p.m. until time of service. Condolences may be sent to 624 Mineola Avenue, Akron, Ohio 44320.
