Dannie Marshall Sr. was born November 8, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Charles and Ozella Randall Marshall. He accepted Christ at an early age. Dannie did depart this life on March 8, 2025. Preceding his death were five siblings, Charles Marshall Jr., Louise Andrews, Virginia Ferguson, Annie Lee Bailey, and Jessie Staley.
Dannie graduated from John Hay High School in Cleveland, Ohio. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, attained the rank of Sergent as Aircraft Maintenance Specialist and Engine Mechanic with honorable discharged. He trained and completed an apprenticeship as an electrician. As a licensed electrician, he owned his own business and worked at US Steel Corporation, Cleveland Pneumatic Landing Gear, United Technologies/Goodrich Landing Gear, and Cleveland Clinic Hospital. Dannie had over 50 years of combined electrical journeyman experience in industrial and commercial environments.
Dannie met his wife, Willie Mae while attending high school and have been married for 56 years. To this union, two children were born, Dannie Marshall Jr. and Dr. Vanessa Marshall.
Dannie was happiest surrounded by his family and friends. Dannie was an avid sports fan, photographer, golfer, attending automobile shows, listening to music, and landscaping and remodeling homes. He spent time traveling between Ohio and Georgia visiting his family and friends. He will be truly missed but live forever in our hearts.
Dannie will be forever loved and leaves to cherish his memory: His devoted wife, Willie Mae; children, Dannie Jr., Vanessa, Trenton; grandchildren, Dylan, Darnell, Trenton Jr.; two sisters-in-law Ruby Brooks (Robert), Constance Washington; three brothers-in-law Dr. William J. Washington (Jayne), Melvin Washington (Jacqueline), James Washington (Justine), nieces, Yolanda Woodland, Mariah Washington, Makayla Washington, Erin Washington, Honor Washington, Hope Washington, Willie Mae Pearl Haile, Jessie Barnes, Charlene Clemons, April Inman (George); nephews James Woodland, Sean Woodland, William Christopher Washington, Johnathan Washington, Wesley Washington, Derrick Washington, Nino Watson, Andrew Staley, James Staley, Samuel Staley, Aubrey Staley, Quentin Bailey (Diane), Eric Bailey; and special cousins Annie Ransaw (John), Gladys McBride, Virginia Randall, Glenda Abdur-Rahman, Marvin Randall, Ernestine Swine, Mary Nell (Leroy) Griffith, Lillian Shinhoster (Richard), Moses Hill, Jr, Louis Washington, Jr. (Regina) and a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, grand-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. His lifelong friends, Maurice Monroe, Robert Golden, and Samuel Pace (Mary Louise).
