Danny Leroy Solomon, a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2026, at the age of 72.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio to Myrna Tilford (Solomon), Danny was preceded in death by his wife Frizell “Fuzzy” Dickson-Solomon.
Danny was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers. Danny loved to spend time at the local casino and traveling to casinos on family bus trips. His favorite place to visit was Las Vegas. A graduate of East Tech High School, Class of 1971, Danny enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduation. He served one tour of duty and was honorably discharged in 1976. He worked in a variety of professions, including construction, welding, and as a Cuyahoga County Corrections officer. Danny was a cherished member of the Dirty 9’ers, a close-knit group of friends who spent countless times together in the neighborhood, sharing laughter, playing basketball, traveling, and creating lifelong memories and brotherhood. He was also a proud member of the Black Panther Party.
Danny married his first wife Annette in August of 1972, from this union his 3 children Latoya (Michael), Danny (Semeca), and LaKiva were born. Danny also has his son Damien Cleveland (Veronica). From his last marriage to the late Fuzzy Dickson- Solomon he inherited 3 loving bonus children, Linda Chappell (Derek), Michael Dickson (Jodi), and Brian Dickson. Danny is also survived by his mother Myrna Joy Solomon, his siblings, Darnella Price (Fred), Joyce Smith (Robert), Jesse (Cheryl), and Jeffrey. Danny was blessed with a host of grandchildren including A’Shira, Michael, Ta’Nautica, Ta’Shiya, Rayshaun, Rayneil, Jamier, Jayla, Tra’naisa, Damien Jr, Da’von, Daylan, Mia, Derek Jr, Dwayne, Mike Jr, Deangelo, Staci, and Ebony.
He also leaves behind a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
