Darnella Denise Wilson was born on April 5, 1952, in Akron, Ohio to Delores Ware and Allen Pope Wilson. She attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from South High School in 1970.
Darnella worked at Ohio Bell for many years as a phone operator and later became a homemaker and loved being able to tend to her family. She met and married, Larry West, and together they had a blended family of six. The two remained together until his passing in 2014.
Darnella loved to watch wrestling and her favorite wrestler was Roman Reigns. She enjoyed hanging out with her friends and family, creating memories and having fun.
She helped out those she loved the best she could. She was known to speak simply and honestly, regardless of what others may think.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry West; parents, Delores Ware and Allen Pope Wilson; siblings, JoAnne Sherman, Allen Wilson, and Stacey Wilson; step-mother, Eula Wilson; and close friend who was more like family, Denice Prophet, and Laverne Wilcher.
Left to cherish her memory, her children, Robert Wilson, Quishauna Wilson, Dora Wilson, and Brian Inge of Elyria, OH; siblings, Anthony (Bonnyann) Wilson, Regina Wilson, Demond Wilson, Cedric Tucker, and Dale Tucker; grandchildren, Jordan James, Calvin Phillips III, Moerice Phillips, Cortez Phillips, Aaron Wilson, Tyshauna Wilson, Darshawn Wilson, and Jamera Williams; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Angela Wilson; special friends, Gwen Prophet, Helen Prophet, and Sylvia Collins.
