Darryl “Buddy” Womack was born January 25, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Percy and Lucinda Womack. Buddy accepted Christ at an early age at Second Bethlehem in Cleveland, where he also graduated from John Hay High School in May 1979 at age 17. To know him is to know he always loved his cars. His father taught him how to drive at the age of 12 and by 14 he knew how to fix cars and carried that throughout his life. Buddy got his first car, a Yellow Venture, at 16, and that’s when his car collection started. Buddy met his wife at a party in 1986 through his cousin and her best friend at the time, and after dating for a short time, they got married June 11, 1988, in Cleveland at Olive Grove Baptist Church. They were together 38 years and collectively had 4 children they successfully raised together.
Buddy was the life of the party and truly loved his family. He has made countless memories with everyone dancing, singing and truly living to the fullest. Some of his favorite hobbies were fishing, going to the racetrack and screaming at the Tv on Sundays and Thursdays while watching the Browns play. He loved to dress and kept a revolving wardrobe Buddy had a laugh that was so contagious it would make everyone else laugh just by hearing it. To know him is to know he did everything he said he was going to do. He was the blueprint to what a stand-up man is and was a father figure to so many.
Preceding him in death are his parents Percy and Lucinda, his sisters Cynthia, and Deborah, his brother Percy, and his grandson Rufus. He leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife Regina, children Dana, Andre G. , Alicia and Andre B., Sisters Beverly and Tangie; Brothers Clarence and Davie; Grandchildren Sanareia, Hasan, Ahmaud, two Great Grandchildren Rufus, Poodie; Aunts Emma Kate, Carolyn, Barbara and Uncle Raymond as well as a host of loving in-laws, close nieces and nephews, friends and family.
