Dr. MARK W CLARK left a message on September 20, 2021:
To Deborah : My heart goes out to you and all the members of your family upon the passing of Darryl. I just heard about it today. We were Columbia College classmates. Darryl was a beautiful soul. As men are prone to do, we lost contact over the years. But I have nothing but positive memories of him. He was smart, witty and truly caring. COVID oblige, I am sure that you are receiving the important support that family and friends can provide at a time like this. But inner rationalization and an acceptance of the fate of all human beings are of little comfort and cannot fill the void left by the passing of such a good husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. I am sure that, although he expects you to mourn, he would not want you to suffer. Rejoice in his memory.

I was a year behind Darryl at Columbia & pledged Omega Psi Phi under him, after 50 years we reconnected had a great conversation a few months ago about life, family, careers, etc. He was man who cared about the community & used his legal expertise to help others in need. Blessings to the family & loved ones as you grieve his loss??
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

To Deborah and the entire Pittman Family, I was deeply saddened to learn that Darryl passed. He was in the forefront of the fight for dignity and respect for mistreated workers for years and years. He truly made a difference in the legal profession and this community. He mentored me in my days as his law clerk and showed me how to be a true professional. He will be sorely missed. God Bless, Van

My condolences to the Pittman family, may God above bless you and keep you and shine his face upon you. Attorney Pittman was a trailblazer and a role model for myself at Columbia College and later law school. His counsel will be missed but his example will continue.
