David L. (Walker) Caldwell, also known as “Davey”, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018. He was born June 30, 1960 in Akron, Ohio. David was the first child of Edith Graham and the late Cornelius Woodson, and raised by the late James C. Walker.
David attended Buchtel and South High School. He was a member of Al-Kaf Marching Group. He was a musician who loved to make people happy with music. He played the guitar, drums and piano and attended Delight in the Temple Church where he played the guitar.
David was a man of many talents. Outside of being a musician, he was also a self-taught barber. He loved sports and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. David spent many hours taking photos and spending time with his family during the holidays.
David was also preceded in death by stepfather, James C. Walker; grandparents, Reverend David and Lillie Caldwell; his uncles, Wentford, Alfred, Elijah and Foster; aunts, Anna Pearl, Roberta, and Delores. Also mourning his loss is his mother, Edith Graham; his remaining siblings, brother, Bob Walker; sisters, Robin (Donald) Brown and Cheryl (William) VanDyke, all of Akron, OH; nieces and nephew, Chanel VanDyke, of North Carolina, Cameron VanDyke and Marcella Barclay, both of Akron, OH; aunts and uncle, Cladine Bryant, Billie Caldwell, and Johnny (Wanda) Dorsey, and many other relatives and friends.
