DeAnn Patricia Hunter received her heavenly wings on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.
She was born August 14, 1956, in Akron, Ohio to the union of Louis and Patricia Andrus in Brooklyn, NY where she attended New York City Public Schools. Upon moving to Akron she graduated from Akron Central Hower High School. Later she met and married Jeffrey Hunter in 1985 and they shared 10 children.
DeAnn retired from Abacus Daycare. She was about family and enjoyed traveling, reading, and cooking good food. She was a “Mom” in her neighborhood and fed anyone who was hungry. Throughout her life, DeAnn had a solid personal relationship with the Lord which brought her strength and peace when dealing with her failing health till the end. She was a member of the House of Prayer for All People Church, under the leadership of Pastor R. Stacey Jenkins where she held positions on the usher and mother’s board, choir, praise team, and deaconess. Her church and spiritual family were a source of great joy and comfort to her.
DeAnn is now reunited with her grandparents, Presley and Vernia Andrus; father and mother, Louis and Patricia Andrus; step-mother, Charlotte Andrus; sister, Sepia Midgyette; great-grandson, James Starks; uncles, Johnny Andrus and Tyrone Osborne; and aunt, Florence Osborne.
