Debra Jernigan, born on May 11, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of strength, intelligence, and compassion. She was the cherished daughter of Lee Andrew Jernigan and Mamie Jernigan, who predeceased her, as did her brothers, Lee, Greg, Anthony, Chris.
Debra’s most significant accomplishments include earning her college degree and raising her two beloved children, Ebony and Raeshuan Jernigan. She was a devoted grandmother to seven grandchildren, who will carry on her legacy of love and warmth.
Debra graduated from Shaw High School and pursued her passion for law at Cuyahoga Community College, where she earned her degree before continuing her studies at Cleveland State University. Her dedication to justice and advocacy inspired many, and she was a respected figure in her community. Deborah embraced her Christian faith at an early age, becoming a devoted member of the Church of God in Christ.
Debra is remembered for her unwavering commitment to her family, friends, and the ideals she stood for. Her passion for life was evident in her love for dancing, playing cards, and basketball, but her greatest joy came from her family. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
