Deidra Renee Edwards was born on August 13, 1948 in Cleveland, OH to William (Bill) Moore and Ann Moore. She passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026 with her family right by her side.

Deidra attended East High School. She dedicated 25 years of service as a registrar for Metro Health Hospitals WIC Program until she retired. Through her work, she helped provide nutritional meals and support to countless women, infants, and children needing assistance throughout the city. Through walking in her purpose, she opened her home and her heart to so many. If you knew Deidra, you knew she was the community mother. Her home was a safe haven where everyone felt welcomed, loved, and cared for. One of her favorites ways to give back to the community was through her weekly recycling endeavors. Deidra cherished the friendships she built over the years, especially with her friends turned family from the Glenville area. They spent countless hours together at the neighborhood pool, sharing laughter, stories, and creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Deidra enjoyed her music, her book club, ghost stories, and family gatherings. She had a special gift for bringing people together, keeping smiles on everyone’s faces, and making sure no one felt alone. No matter what challenges others were facing, Deidra filled every room she entered with love, laughter, and warmth. Her greatest accomplishment was the countless lives she touched through her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for others.

Deidra was preceded in death by her parents William and Ann Moore, 2 sisters Brenda Golden and Gina Daniels. She is survived by her spouse William Elbert Edwards, 3 Children Tammy Edwards, Tenora Edwards and Daron Edwards, Wife Chauntoyia Edwards, (Bonus daughters Danita Ervin and Leah Miles-Gibbs). Her Siblings Gail Chisholm (Malcolm) Constance Moore, and Byron Moore (Hope).

Her Grand children Brandie Edwards, Allan Edwards, Justin Edwards, Ariah Jones, Daveon Edwards, Erika Edwards, and Malena May, great grand children Jordyn Rosario, Kalyn Rosario, Braylon Edwards, Roosevelt Hall III, and Alani Edwards, special mention of gratitude for niece Hollie Tolbert for being an amazing caregiver, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
