Della Mae Lynch went home to be with the Lord on March 30, 2017.
Della is survived by her beloved husbad of 60 years Lacy Lynch. Cherished mother of Deborah, Michael, Reginald and Christopher. Grandmother of Isaiah, Reginald, Brandon, Michael, Adam and Angelina. Great-Grandmother of Addisyn.
Della was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on February 25, 1940, to the union of George Mobley and Mary Thomas Mobley, both predeceased her in death. On March 23, 1957, Della was united in holy matrimony to her devoted lifelong husband of 60 years, Lacy C. Lynch. To this union were born four children, Deborah, Michael, Reginald, and Christopher.
Della accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of her community church in Chattanooga, TN, until she relocated to Cleveland, Ohio. Later in life she became a member of Mt. Gillion Baptist Church under the Pastoralship of Reverend Freddie L. Brown. Della was a dedicated servant who used her gift of hospitality in serving as an Usher. In recognition of her Christ-like character and Godly wisdom, Pastor Brown called her out to serve on the Mother’s Board. From time to time she also visited Mt. Zion Church of Oakwood Village.
Once Della’s children became of school age, she was employed at Metropolitan General Hospital as a Physical Therapist Assistance. She later transitioned to Oak Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she provided care to the elderly. After many years with Oak Park she moved on to work for LXD, Incorporated as a skilled Lab Technician until retirement in year 2003.
As a wife and Mom, Della loved caring for her family and nothing went undone. She was always prepared for daily and upcoming events. Her passion for eating provided her family with at least three meals a day and many leftovers. Holidays were always over the top, starting with decorations, large meals, and scrumptious desserts. Her passion and flare for flower gardening could have easily won her a Blue Ribbon award in the Better Homes and Garden magazine. Her beautifully arranged plants and flowers caused those passing by to stop and compliment her. It became humorous to watch her and husband Lacy negotiate the care of roses. He had his thoughts and she had hers.
Della Mae Lynch leaves to celebrate her life and legacy her husband Lacy C. Lynch; one dedicated daughter Deborah A. Lynch, Waldorf, MD; three devoted sons Michael C. Lynch, Reginald D. Lynch, and Christopher C. Lynch, all of Cleveland, OH; sisters, Daisy McFarland (Tyrone); Gladys Jones, both of Philadelphia, PA; brother, Harold Barrett, (Pecolia), Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, Isaiah D. Lynch, Reginald J. Lynch, Brandon Galati, Michael Galati, Adam Galati, and Angelina A. Lynch; great-granddaughter Addisyn D. Lynch; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
