Delores “Lois” Jean Still, lovingly called “Mama Gal” was a beautiful and caring wife, mother, nana, sister, and friend. She passed away peacefully on January 17, 2024, at the Monroeville Rehabilitation and Wellness center in Monroeville Pennsylvania at the age of 71 years. Lois was born to Elizabeth and Jodie Johnson on November 5, 1952 in Akron Ohio. They attended Shiloh Baptist church. After graduating from South High school, Lois enlisted into the United States Army to proudly serve her country.
Lois met Larry and moved to McKeesport Pennsylvania where they were married on June 27, 1998. She worked as a transporter, a certified nurse’s assistant, and a medical assistant at Magee Women’s Hospital until her early retirement. Lois was an excellent cook and enjoyed making all of her family’s favorite foods whenever asked. She fried chicken like a professional and her potato salad was requested for every holiday. Lois was very outgoing, to know her was to love her and most of her nieces and nephews thought of her as their favorite auntie. She will be greatly missed.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Jodie Johnson, her sisters Mary Alice James and Theresa Reed, Aunts, Regina Carroll and Althea Dorsey, Uncles Hubert Earl Stinson and Charles Henry Fitzpatrick, Cousins, Cynthia Carroll, Keshia Dorsey, Oshanna “Donnie” Dorsey, and Lloyd Glover, and Great nephew Dominick Lewis. All of the ancestors that have preceded her too many to name.
Lois is survived by her husband Larry Still, Daughters, Khadija (Ritchie) Braziel, and Shamere Johnson, son, Camerone Johnson, Grandchildren, De’mere Johnson, Steven Rucker III, Kenyah Harris, Khaymen Harris, Ashanti Harris, Ashari Harris, Makeda Johnson, Sy’iere Johnson, Camerone L. Johnson, Malichae Johnson, and Kha’lya Johnson, Sister Fadiah(Abdulsabr Abdullah)Jackson, brothers James Johnson and Hubert Earl Johnson, Sisters in law, Shirley Little, Beverly Mockabee, and Debbie Still, Nieces Laura Ann Cowan, Lisa Cowan, Regina James, Pamela James, Tawanda (Milton) Averiette and Crystal Little, Nephews, Walter (Cheryl) Reed III, Eric Reed, Yasin Abdul Mujib, Muntasir Abdul Mujib, James Cowan, Cousins Vernetta Carroll and Harvey Glover and a host of family and friends. Delores was magnetic, she made so many friends everywhere she went there are too many to name but each of you who knew her friendship. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
