At the precious age of 62, Dennis Lee Lucy went home to be with the Lord, on August 14, 2019, with his family by his side. Dennis was born on October 17, 1956 to the late Walter Lucy Sr. and the late Mildred Lucy in Akron, Ohio. He attended South High School and went on to Job Corps, where he studied auto mechanics and welding. He served several years at various transportation agencies; Akron University, Rides-4-Less, just to name a few. He spent most of his career in sanitation and janitorial services. He was a reliable employee with Janco Service Industries until his passing.
Dennis discovered his gift of music during his early teens. He taught himself to play the guitar and by the age of 15, he played with numerous bands throughout the city. Even as an adult, he enjoyed having jam sessions with one of his favorite cousins, Charles (Billy) Mapp Jr.
In April, 2007, he married Angela and they were together for 12 years. He was a loving and devoted husband. He found solitude by taking long walks in the park and early morning fishing trips.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and attended Miracle Revival Fellowship Church, where he was an active member for many years. Dennis was honored to be the Minster of Music, singing in the choir, playing his guitar and whatever he could do for the glory of God. He was a valuable asset and will greatly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Hampton; brothers, Melvin Lucy, Jerry Lucy and William Lucy.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Angela Lucy; his children that he loved dearly, Dante (Nicole) Booker Sr., Bishari Booker and Jasmine Samuel, all of Akron, Ohio; step-children, Marqeatta McDowell of Akron, Ohio and Robin Wilson of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, John (Josie) Lucy of Detroit, Michigan and Walter Lucy Jr. of Akron, Ohio; grandchildren, Dante Jr., Nya, Devin, Drew, Kobie, Nathaniel Jayanna, Serinidy, Jayden, Andraya, Sincere, Tacorewan, Antwain and Jewelz; special cousins, Mary (Ann) and Charles (Tuck) Haynes and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
