Derail Saquan Whisenant was born on January 16, 1996. He went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, unexpectedly, on Thursday, June 4, 2020. He was born in Akron, Ohio at Akron General Hospital to Mathew Bailey and Kiannia Whisenant.
Derail lived most of his life in Ohio until 2007, when his family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma for 5 years before returning back to his hometown. He attended public schools in both states and received his GED at Richland Correctional.
He loved his family dearly and loved to spend time with them. At any event, he was there for sure. He was so happy to become a father. He loved the bond that he shared with his son. He always wanted to see the good in people no matter what the situation. His heart was made of gold. If someone needed the shirt off his back, he would have given it to them with no hesitation. He was the definition of a true, loyal friend. Just to know him was to love him.
Derail was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charlie W. Bailey; great grandmother, Edna Phillips; uncles, Charles Trammell, Elbert Manuel, Peter Whisenant, and Azell Whisenant; aunt, Patricia Whisenant and cousins, Jerrionna Alford and Javonte Mills.
