Derrick Jerome Golden Sr. was born on June 29, 1982, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Bonnie Jean Golden and Henry Cook Jr. Derrick attended Cleveland Public Schools and was known for his love of family, especially the joy he found in spending time with his children.
Derrick had a deep appreciation and extraordinary ear for music that was truly unmatched. He also had a passion for cooking, which led him to work for many years in the restaurant industry, where he dedicated himself to serving others through his craft.
On May 3, 2026, Derrick departed this life and entered into eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Jean Golden; his brother, Taiwan Golden; his nephews, Lamar Petty and Kong Golden; and his grandparents, Henry Cook Sr., Rosa Lee Cook, Bertha Golden, and Joseph Golden.
Derrick leaves to cherish his memory and continue his legacy: his father, Henry Cook Jr.; his beloved children, Geonni Sr., Derrick Jr., Darius, Dominic, Harmonie, and Zaniyah; his four grandsons, Geonni Jr., Christopher, De’aire, and Legend; and a loving family of aunts, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many relatives and friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
