Ms. Estella Bushner was born October 5, 1937 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Henry and Janie Brisbon.
She confessed Christ at an early age, joining Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Meigs, Alabama. Ms. Estella later joined Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church when she relocated to Akron, Ohio in 1958. When she joined Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church she was under the leadership of Reverend Hubert Powell, when she served on the Nurse’s guild. Then she went under the leadership of Bishop Marc L. Neal, and served as a Pastor Aid. Then under the now leadership of Pastor Phillip G. Mororer, and served on the Missionary Society of JMBC until her health declined. Matthew 25:23 His Lord said unto him well done good and faithful servant.
Ms. Estella attended George Washington School located in Mt. Meigs Alabama. After pursuing her education, she went on to do day work. Then she relocated to Akron, Ohio. When she moved to Akron she continued her day work, and then she went on to work at Aquila Pizza. Estella then as she always said “then got my good job” working for the State at Broadview Mental Hospital located in Broadview Heights, Ohio. Estella worked up until a work injury in 1989. Estella loved to tell people about her good job, she went to work every day, and did not drive, and took good care of her kids. Estella was a good cook, a gardener, and loved to work in her yard.
She is preceded in death by her siblings James Brisbon, Lee Edward Brisbon, Henry Brisbon Jr, Isaiah Brisbon, Elizabeth Patterson, Rebecca Croskey, and Mattye Trawick. Children Jesse Lee James Jr, Donald H. James, and Todd Duane James, Son in law Angelo Hodges, and Nephew/son Kenneth Brisbon.
She is survived by her children Rhonda Hodges, and Timothy Bushner, Daughter in law Alisa James, and Lisa Bushner. Grandchildren Angela, Tyiesha, Tony, Ashton (Markie), Aaron, Aris, and Todd Jr. 11 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandkids, and Special Friend/Daughter that Estella adopted Sugar. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends too many to name.
