Diane Elizabeth Cox was the oldest of nine children born on May 24, 1948, to Edker and Beulah Cox, who preceded her in death.
Diane accepted Christ at an early age and was raised in a church environment. She pursued her education and earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Diane graduated from the Academy for Court Reporting and Cuyahoga Community College. She also obtained numerous certifications in education and leadership.
Throughout her life, Diane was dedicated to funding and supporting the development of the Mt. Pleasant Community Development. She held executive administrative positions at several major corporations and was a successful small business owner. Additionally, Diane had a passion for sewing and was a talented seamstress. She designed gowns and clothing for special occasions, weddings, and proms.
Diane’s true passion and legacy resided in caring for her family, loved ones, and community. She had a welcoming and embracing nature, always extending her arms to everyone, regardless of who they were. Diane will be missed, but certainly not forgotten.
Diane and Michael shared a loving relationship for 42 years and were married for 27 years. When asked about the length of their marriage, Diane affectionately responded, “FOREVER,” according to her daughter.
Diane leaves to celebrate her life; her husband, Michael; son Stevie; daughters, Stephanie (Jason, Sr.) and Stacey. Diane leaves to cherish her memory; eight grandchildren: Dayuan, Jason, J’Den, Jay’Don, Jade, Jamiya, Lyric, and Londyn; siblings: Theodore, Larry (Seteria), Henry, Jr., Howard (Adrianne), Mary Jean (Swayne), Reginald, and Jana (Marc); and a host of other family and friends.
