Celebrating the Life of Diane Quinney

Diane Quinney, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, family member, and devoted servant of the Lord, was born on August 21, 1951, in Akron, Ohio. On August 5, 2026, Diane peacefully returned home to be with the Lord and Savior she loved so dearly.

Diane was the daughter of the late Theodis and Alice Buchanan. She graduated from Buchtel High School in 1969 and went on to earn an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science from The University of Akron. She dedicated many years of her professional life to serving others as an Administrative Professional at Mt. Olive Baptist Church and the Summit County Community Action Agency, retiring in 2004.

Diane was a strong and faithful believer in Yeshua (Jesus Christ). Faith was the foundation of her life, and she sought to honor the Lord in all that she did. She attended St. Luke Baptist Church for most of her life, where she especially loved singing in the church choir. For the final eight years of her life, she was a faithful and cherished member of Abundant Life Christian Church in Barberton, Ohio.

Beyond her professional and church life, Diane was a woman who treasured her family and the simple joys of life. She loved watching movies, coloring, working crossword puzzles, and especially watching Christmas movies. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she cherished gathering with her family during the holidays. She also looked forward each year to celebrating Passover Seder, creating meaningful memories with those she loved.

Diane leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 32 years, Greg Quinney; her daughter, Tina (Jeff) Weller; sisters, Elizabeth (Robert) Arnold and Rene (Donnell) Hilton; her special cousin, Arverta Buchanan; 2 granddaughters, 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, church family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodis and Alice Buchanan; her brother, Johnny Buchanan; and a host of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and relatives.

Most of all, Diane loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (Yeshua). Diane’s life was a testimony of faith, love, family, service, and devotion to God. She loved deeply, served faithfully, and left an imprint on the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Though she will be greatly missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is resting in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Her faith has now become sight, and her earthly journey is complete. You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, You have kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7) Rest well. Until we meet again, may your memory continue to be a blessing.
