D’Mante LaVelle Tolliver, affectionately known as ‘Monty’ and ‘Big D’, was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 21, 1992. He was the only child born to Jana Tolliver and Andrico Marshall. D’Mante was baptized as an infant at St. Margaret Mary Church. D’Mante attended grade school at St. Margaret Mary and St. Gregory the Great. While growing up, D’Mante played little league soccer and baseball in grade school, CYO basketball in junior high, and tennis in high school. He was also an avid WrestleMania, SmackDown and RAW fan. D’Mante graduated from Notre Dame Cathedral Latin High School in 2010. He attended Bowling Green State University until he obtained employment at the Unites States Postal Service in 2012.
D’Mante worked for the Postal Service for the last 12 years and established many friendships of all ages, young and old. D’Mante loved his postal family and they loved him; especially his work mom, Dina. He held positions of Clerk, Lead Clerk, Acting Supervisor, and Maintenance. D’Mante purchased his first home in January of 2021. He was so excited about his accomplishment and his family was so proud of him. D’Mante had interest in cooking and loved making salmon and rice. He began expanding his culinary skills and was often eager to prepare a new dish. He was always willing to bring his buffalo chicken dip or macaroni and cheese to gatherings. He enjoyed celebrating birthdays and special occasions for himself and others. D’Mante enjoyed going to music concerts and celebrated his 30th birthday on a cruise to St. Thomas, the Bahamas, and Puerto Rico. Those who knew him well will tell you, D’Mante was one of the friendliest people you can ever meet. He always shared a big smile when he talked to others.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents: Jana Tolliver and Andrico Marshall; his great grandmother Callella Glenn; his grandparents: Patricia Tolliver (Marvin ‘PaPa’ Scott), Roger Tolliver (Laverne), and Fayrene Marshall; his siblings: Andrico, De’angelo, Andrew, AlDricqua, Sky Lashay; his aunts: Gina Glenn Hutton (Johnny), Nikki Adams (Steven), and Andreena Jackson; his uncles: Ronald Glenn (Donna) and Anthony Marshall; his godmother Robyn Gordon; his fur babies: Sylvester and Siouxsie; his great-great aunt, great aunts and uncles, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
