Dolores was the middle child and the only daughter but had two brothers Leonard and Jimmie whom both preceded her in death. Dolores accepted Christ on February 18th, 1962 and attended Mount Hermon Church. Dolores was first and foremost a loving wife and mother. In 1964, Dolores was a teacher’s aide in Cleveland Public Schools. She then proceeded to pass her civil service test and became a secretary for Dyke Elementary School, Alford A. Bensch Elementary School, and Louis Agassiz Elementary School where she retired from in 2000. She was also the secretary of the East 154th Street Club and designed and made her own clothing with her personal label inside.
Along with her love for fashion, she also loved to travel and had visited such places as The Bahamas, Italy, Mexico, Alaska, Germany and a multitude of cruises with her husband Army.
She loved to play Pacino with her cousins, shopping with her daughter and loved to eat good food! She was a class act of beauty, style and grace and spared no expense when it came to her wardrobe.
The most important thing in life were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was hands on in every aspect of her children’s lives! To her great grandchildren she was affectionately known as “Bookie” and to the neighborhood children and still to this day Mama Johnson.
She leaves in mourning one daughter Karen Renee, sons Tyrone Leonard (Deandra), Randall Allen (Gwen) and Timothy Wayne. One daughter in law, Connie whom was married to Ronald. Nineteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. One sister/sister in love Beatrice Hicks, One aunt, Jean Pruitt and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
