I can never remember at any time when he did not have a good and or kind word to say to the many young men and women around him. That is the mark of a good man. My Condolences.

My deepest sympathy to the family. I’ve known Mr. Chaney a long time. I remember when he joined the 428th Suppy and Service Company (DS) at that time. He worked as the Administrator for the Unit.and always doing an incredible job. Mr.Chaney was well respected. I’m glad I had the opportunity to know and work with him. It was a pleasure and honor to know Mr. Chaney and blessed to have him as a friend .

To the Family of My Best Friend, Words cannot truly express the deep loss I feel for my best friend, Don. Our friendship stretches back to the early 1970s, when we worked together at Social Security in downtown Cleveland. Through both good times and difficult moments, we walked side by side. I remember the joy he found in his marriage to Juanita and the love he showed for her son, Mario. Later, when God blessed him with his own son, Don proudly shared, “I never had a middle name,” and gave his son the name Donald Jason Chaney. As a man of faith, he gave God all the praise for this blessing. Don was “peacock proud,” carrying a heart full of love. I will never forget our military service together. In those experiences, his courage, loyalty, and unwavering faith in God shone through. On many occasions, we shared the hope and encouragement that only faith can bring. Revelation 2:10b reminds us: “Be thou faithful unto death, and I [God] will give thee a crown of life.” To the family, I say this with assurance: Don is wearing his crown. My uncle was the true patriarchal leader of our family. I will always remember his words of wisdom, his sense of humor, and his GQ wardrobe. Wish I had spent more time with him over the years. Missing him is an understatement. Thankful that I had a great example of a high value man who loved his family. I hope we all make him proud while he watches over us 🙏🏾
